HUNT FOR OCTOBER

Yes I totally realize that this is silly to post about, but at our house, this is a big deal. We are almost officially in the MLB postseason, and the REDSOX are in it! It is definatly going to be a rough road to the WORLD SERIES, but if any group of players can make it happen, Big Papi, Pedroia, Youklis, Papelbon, Lester, Beckett, Lowell, Ellsbury, ect.... THEY can do it. GO TEAM!

MOTOCROSS

We spent Saturday at the races in Huntington and Shawn did great! I think we may have finally worked out some bugs with his bike and it is running well. He placed second and fourth overall. He is really trying to learn to pass and make "strategic" moves, and there were a few times he crashed. Luckily, he is back up and at it in just a few seconds! He was tired afterwards, it is a long day for him, but he is counting down the days until the next race. I sure love him and I am most proud of his good sportsmanship. He is always encouraging and kind to all his racing friends. Here is a pic of the awards.....

Salina Creek Canoeing

My parents passed down thier canoe to us and we have been enjoying it so much! We have taken it out the past couple of weekends. It is a little interesting with Charlee in a canoe- a few times we had some close calls with capsizing- but we are all getting the hang of it. We caught 13 fish at Salina Creek (No- we didn't keep any because that would upset our little fishie lover Charlee) last weekend. They were not really big- but fought hard and the kids had a ball. Here are a few cute pics!

Gooseberry

Shawn went on the Gooseberry trip and loved it. He loved all the workshops because the outdoors and wildlife are such his cup of tea. I went up on Monday and then Mike met us for the dinner and of course- ANNIE BANGS! I went home and Mike got to stay in the boys cabin overnight. He said he was praying for morning to end the "Snore chorus"! Anyway- it is a cool opportunity for this kids... I certainly did not get to do something like that where I grew up. I think the highlight for Shawn was the police dog and Trooper Kearney.

Charlee's 1st day of Preschool

Charlee is going to the school district preschool this year. She gets to go three days a week, and it is at the "big school" where Shawn and Savannah go. She was excited/nervous this morning. She was asking a million questions like "Are the kids going to like me?" "Will there be big kids?" "Will the big kids be nice to me?" "Do I have to know how to read?" "Does my teacher like me?" ect....
She asked for her hair in braids (because maybe her teacher will say that her braids are cute...) and she picked her outfit. She did a good job! She walked up to the door all by herself, and as you can see from the pics.... she was not scared and was very excited! She rode the bus home, and I think that was the highlight of the day! I just can't believe how fast the kids are all growing up!

Charlee's FIVE

Here is the birthday celebrations for Charlee. We had a Dancing Princesses cake with my parents, and they gave her a way cute outfit. Then she had her birthday party with her little friends. We made bracelets and crowns, and we had a Hannah Montana pinata. We had cake and homemade ice cream with Mike family later that night. She was really spoiled- Just the way we like it on birthdays!
