Charlee's Artwork

This was so funny. Last night, Charlee was doing her "homework". She has this book that she can practice writing her letters and then wipe them off. She really enjoys this, and does it regularly. Well, last night, she got a little carried away. She started to draw on her hands.... one with purple and one with blue crayola marker. Okay, so I thought we were totally done with the stage where they draw on the walls or counter or themselves, but I guess not. After she had drawn on them a little, she started trying to wipe them off with her wipie, but all she succeeded in doing was smearing it around. Then she must have panicked and she started trying to lick it off. And this is the result. When she first came in... she was so sad and she just knew I was going to be really mad at her. All I could do was laugh!!! She was distraught and saying "All the kids are going to laugh at me! My mouth is blue!" After telling her she probably shouldn't have colored on herself and letting her worry just a minute, I told her that it would come off in the tub. After that, we all got a good laugh, and she got a bubble bath.
BTW- I did this when I about four, only I did it with food coloring and I smeared it all over my body while I was supposed to be resting. That was a bugger to get off! I remember being in the tub and my mom brought in her Visiting Teachers to look at my personal masterpiece!

SS Tournament

Shawn has such a great time wrestling and is learning so much. Our team does such a great job and we had so many boys wrestling last saturday. There were so many it was hard to watch them all! It is fun to see them learn new moves and use them at the tournaments.... Shawn's best friend pinned two guys with the double arm bar on saturday! It was awesome! Shawn was so stoked for his buddy and as soon as the match was over they were hugging and laughing. They both ended up with 1st place. Way to go boys!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Yesterday was Mike's birthday. We have been celebrating for a few days now, but I just wanted to tell you all out there in blog land what a terrific guy I managed to snag! Last night we spent a quiet night at home doing homework and such... but as we were going about our night, Mike and Shawn were wrestling around on the floor in the living room, practicing moves and such, and they were both laughing so hard and having so much fun. It just makes me feel so good that Mike is such a great dad... that he helps me so much, and that he loves me like he does. I am not always easy to live with, and he loves me anyway. He has such a truly great heart! I am so grateful for all he does for us. It has been a hard few months for me.... I have been going through some stuff, feeling misunderstood in a small town, Mike's work has been REAL slow, people we love are struggling, ect.... and I know that Mike worries a lot. I am just so glad to have him and for all he does for our little family. We all idolize him in our house... I hope he has a great birthday, and I just wanted him to know how much I love him!

Valentine Dinner

Tepanyaki's is seriously one of my favorite places to eat. I eat way too much there, but it is so yummy! It was so fun to go out and the company was wonderful.... We sure are glad to be surrounded by so many people who love us! You are all so wonderful!

Absence makes the heart grow fonder....

I think Mike has something worked out with his company that they go to the Las Vegas Concrete show the week before Valentines Day. He goes every year, and every year it is a good reminder for me of how much Mike does for our family. I don't really enjoy the week as a "single mom" and the kids don't really enjoy thier daddy (AKA thier playtoy) being gone. The kids have been really good, and way helpful to me this week, but I still feel out of sorts that Mike is not at home. I find myself staying up late cleaning and doing little projects because I do not like to go to bed in an empty bed. So.... I am going to make sure to tell Mike what a great daddy he is and how much I appreciate all he does for us when he gets home.
